MRK Partners Celebrates 10 Years of Transformative Work in Affordable Housing Spaces

MRK Partners is excited to celebrate 10 years in the affordable housing space. Founded in 2015 in a room above a garage as a dream with a desire and conviction to build something different, MRK has worked hard to prove that it was possible to change how affordable housing was done.

“We knew there was a better way to preserve and create affordable housing, and we were willing to do whatever it took to make it happen,” said Sydne Garchik. “And somehow, through sheer determination, the right partnerships, and probably too many sleepless nights, we made it work.”

“Fast forward to today, and MRK has grown beyond what we could have dreamed,” Garchik continued. “We now have… a team of passionate, brilliant people who show up every single day to make an impact. We’ve expanded into six states, working in communities where affordable housing matters most. And together, we’ve built a portfolio of over 5,000 units, creating homes and hope for thousands of families.

“But let me be clear — this has never just been about numbers. It’s about people. It’s about trust, resilience, and shared purpose.”

As part of the celebration of 10 years in business, MRK Partners is proud to support the Altadena Community Preservation Fund (ACPF) in raising funds for historically Black neighborhoods affected by the Eaton Canyon fires. We encourage all those able to join us in donating — every dollar donated by April 15th will be matched up to $10,000.

The ACPF provides direct cash assistance in the form of bridge grants to Altadena homeowners, small business owners and local organizations like schools, libraries, and churches displaced by the fires earlier this year. This funding helps provide immediate and mid-term relief by helping cover temporary housing, the hiring of independent adjusters, legal fees, and more to ensure that recipients can navigate recovery on their own terms.

With 10 years of experience at our backs, MRK Partners remains committed to giving back to our communities and helping those in need, both by changing the future of affordable housing and by expanding our charitable impact. It’s been an incredible decade, and we’re excited to  tackle the opportunities ahead of us for the next decade and beyond.
